Monday Essentials: The Paving Continues

The final striping should be happening starting on July 22.

Workers from the Massachusetts Highway Department paved last week in downtown Northborough.

According to an update posted on the town's website, here's what to expect during the week beginning Monday, July 22:

•   The final pavement markings are expected to be applied this week most likely in the evening hours. The installation of the resin for the imprinted the  crosswalk system is also expected to start this week either during daytime hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. or evening hours of 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. This work may last two to three weeks. The crosswalk installation is a slow process and will block traffic direction on one side of the road at a time only, therefore no detours are anticipated either during the day or evening work hours.

•       Once the final paving, striping and crosswalks are complete the contractor will be completing all punch list items and the final signal timing will be reviewed with the MDOT District 3 Traffic Engineer.

•       Contact MassDOT resident engineer, Angela Padavano at 774-292-2076 with any questions or concerns you may have regarding the Downtown Traffic Improvements.
