New Art Studio Opens in Northborough

Artistic Surfaces Studio held its grand opening at 291 Main St. on Nov. 8.

When Leisu Kirby isn’t at her new Northborough art studio, she may be painting a mural at someone’s home.

That’s among the services offered at Artistic Surfaces Studio, which held its grand opening at 291 Main St. on Nov. 8.

“I did a seascape in a bathroom. I did a Greek statue park in a living room. I’ve done dragons in little boys’ rooms,” Kirby said Monday.

Kirby said she attended the Art Institute of Boston, and started interior painting,  and “that became murals and decorative finishing.”

Kirby said she had had a studio in Hudson, but wanted to expand.

“Now that the kids are older, I’m getting back into art and decorative finishes, murals,” she added.

The Northborough studio offers such services as wine and paint socials, art classes and parties for kids.
