Where's the Bear?

There have been five reported sightings.

A young black bear continued traveling through Northborough on Thursday, with at least five sightings this week.

And the bear may have made tracks, of sorts, out of town.

"Shrewsbury has had sightings now near High Street in their community- across from Ward Hill," Northborough Police posted on their Facebook page on Thursday.

Police said the bear, which they described as "about 125 lbs. and estimated to be 1-2 years old," was seen on Crawford Street in Northborough around 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

That was the fifth reported sighting over two days.

Crawford Street in Northborough and High Street in Shrewsbury are within two miles apart.

Police said the bear has been seen in the area of Church Street-Fay Lane-Pleasant Street.

"The bear has shown no signs of aggression," police said on their Facebook page.

"If you encounter the bear make noise and go inside. Banging trash can lids together or sounding your car horn is suggested. Schools were notified, along with the Mass. Environmental Police and Mass. Fish and Wildlife. No action will be taken unless the bear displays aggression."
