John how is shoveling any different then raking leaves off the sidewalk in the fall, or is that the towns job as well?

ReplyIts very frustrating trying to walk around the neighborhood when a good percentage of the sidewalks still have 6+" of snow for 2 and 3 weeks ago. Especially at night, walking in the streets are not safe since most drivers do not follow the posted speed limits.
Its bad enough that half the streets don't have any sidewalks but that's another story.

ReplyWe have also been very surprised no sidewalks have been plowed. We walk our dog several times a day and it has been very tough especially in the evening finding a safe area to walk. Aren't there town requirements that sidewalks must be cleared within so may hours of the end of a storm?

I would like to point out that, the $500 fine and jail time is the Maximum allowed under executive order. During the initial it was stated that under law it would be possible but it would not be likely if any action was taken that it would be close to what is allowed by law.

ReplyI agree the first paragraph is a bit confusing. However it was discussed in length at last years town meeting, that the need for a new generator was due to that the current one could not power all of the school. Which is necessary for an emergency shelter.

According to the 2012-2013 trash collection schedule on the town website, it does show today as being a holiday.

I would much rather a Whole Foods in the area, far superior meats and produce sections.
