25,000 people show up for the opening of a....supermarket?
Bored and/or fanatical consumers from as far away as Erie, PA, converged on Worcester County last Sunday for the grand opening of Wegmans Northborough. Traffic was snarled for hours on Route 20 as determined penny pinchers herded into the fabled New York based grocery store to purchase bananas at .49 cents a pound. No serious injuries or incidents were reported by authorities. Wegmans is open seven days a week from 6 a.m. until midnight. They have never been known to run out of anything.

Window smashing grand slam shatters championship quest.
There's no joy in Mudville, the mighty Northborough All-Stars have struck out against a tough Grafton nine. The Grafton stellars defeated the Northborough Little League All-Stars, 8-6, in the District 5 quarterfinal game. Grafton's Trent Dubois hit a huge fifth inning grand slam, putting his team ahead for good. The ball was hit with such force that it shattered the rear windshield of an SUV parked 40 feet beyond the centerfield fence. Cam O'Toole also had a big night, hitting two homers and driving in three runs. Northborough's Charles Gallagher went three for three, hitting a single, a double and a home run.
