Algonquin Students Guilty of Beating Teen
Two Algonquin teens were found guilty of assault and battery against another teenager in Shrewsbury last October.
Four teenagers were originally charged in conjunction with the case, but two were found guilty last week in Westborough District Court for assaulting another teenger in Shrewsbury last September. Both Algonquin High School students, Samantha Cohen, 19, 21 Brook Lane, Southborough, and Michela Leavitt, 19, 57 Pine Hill Road, Southborough, were arrested by Shrewsbury police on Oct. 20 on charges of assault and battery and disorderly conduct. The assault took place in the woods across from 74 Reservoir St. in Shrewsbury on Sept. 13. The victim, a Northborough resident, provided a written statement that accused the four teenagers of punching her face and head, causing a broken nose and damage to her teeth.
