Algonquin Students Guilty of Beating Teen

Two Algonquin teens were found guilty of assault and battery against another teenager in Shrewsbury last October.

Four teenagers were originally charged in conjunction with the case, but two were found guilty last week in Westborough District Court for assaulting another teenger in Shrewsbury last September. Both Algonquin High School students, Samantha Cohen, 19, 21 Brook Lane, Southborough, and Michela Leavitt, 19, 57 Pine Hill Road, Southborough, were arrested by Shrewsbury police on Oct. 20 on charges of assault and battery and disorderly conduct. The assault took place in the woods across from 74 Reservoir St. in Shrewsbury on Sept. 13. The victim, a Northborough resident, provided a written statement that accused the four teenagers of punching her face and head, causing a broken nose and damage to her teeth. Marlborough Man Crashes Van and Flees to Econo Lodge on Foot

Wife reports her husband has driven off intoxicated, and police arrest him after transporting him from the Econo Lodge to the hospital.

A Marlborough man was arrested for OUI and other offenses after a crash in Shrewsbury that ultimately involved the Shrewsbury, Marlborough and Northborough police departments, as well as a call from the driver's wife. Clayton Watts, 74 Chestnut St., of Marlborough was charged with OUI, negligent operation, speeding, marked lanes violation, suspended license, leaving the scene of personal inujry and leaving the scene of property damage after he smashed his Dodge Caravan into an island and DPW sign, and left the scene on foot to the Northborough Econo Lodge, according to the police report.  On Thursday, Feb. 3, around 3 a.m., Northborough Police responded to a crash near 380 Southwest Cutoff that had been reported by Shrewsbury PD.
