Spirit for Haiti, Marionettes, Black Out Bullying Day, Fitness and Drama

The school year is almost officially at the halfway mark and the year continues with students fundraising for a cause, watching an awesome puppet show, discussing anti-bullying, walking to school, and adding a little drama to the day.

Spirit for Haiti: Marking the second anniversary of the devastating earthquake in Haiti, four fifth grade students at Proctor School facilitated the Spirit for Haiti fundraiser for the month of January. Out of the grief, Scott's family developed the now nationally recognized Rachel's Challenge, which aims to "inspire, equip and empower every person to create a permanent positive culture change in their school, business and community by starting a chain reaction of kindness and compassion." On Monday, Dec. 5, there are Rachel's Challenge presentations in the afternoon and evening at the Melican Middle School for students and their families. Note—this event was originally scheduled for Nov. 1, but was postponed due to the storm. Rachel’s family realized the power of their daughter’s written messages about kindness and compassion as well as the impact she …
