Celtic Tavern 'Hopes to Be Open By Next Week'

A fire caused considerable damage to the nightclub/restaurant on Monday.

A fire that started in the mulch and ripped up through the wall into the roof caused a considerable amount of damage to the Celtic Tavern on Monday morning. With its digital sign reading "Thank you, Northborough Fire Department," the Celtic was forced to close this week due to the damage. Trucks from Service Master lined the parking lot the next day, and word is that the Celtic Tavern hopes to be open by mid next-week, according to senior bartender Heather Borge Leroux. "We are still in the process of cleaning," she said. "Service Master has control of the whole building right now, cleaning every inch with a find tooth comb. Talk about a spring cleaning." Sea Dog Was Closed to 'Re-evaluate,' May Open Under New Name

Sea Dog Steak & Ale closed without much warning last month, but may reappear with a new name and branding.

Having a crew that truly enjoys working with the public, and has a good personality, surely makes a restaurant continue to have repeat customers, after all, they can't rely on …   more ›

Tilz Restaurant Reopens

Tilz is back open for business after making a down payment to the Department of Revenue.

Tilz Restaurant, the longtime family-run diner in Northborough, is back open after paying a "sizable downpayment" on taxes owed, according to Bob Bliss, Department of Revenue spokesperson. Northborough Patch called Tilz to discuss the re-opening, but management declined comment. The Department of Revenue closed Tilz last Tuesday for nonpayment of taxes. Tilz is a family-style diner that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
