The year started out "very confident."
The Massachusetts Association of REALTORS reported recently that realtors started out 2013 very confident in the real estate market as the REALTOR Market Confidence Index (RMCI) and REALTOR Price Confidence Index (RPCI) both hit all-time highs in January. Massachusetts has reported a decrease in single-family home sales, but the Northborough market is maintaining.
Reaching its highest level in 19 months, pending home sales continued to gain in November, which is the latest report issued by the National Association of Realtors. A home sale is considered pending when the buyer and seller agree on terms, but the final steps to ownership and sale have not yet occurred. Based on the Pending Home Sales Index, which is a "forward-looking indicator based on contract signings," the Northeast rose 8.1 percent to 77.1 in November but is 0.3 percent below November 2010, according to the National Association of Realtors. In Massachusetts, there were 46,477 single-family homes put under agreement in 2011, compared with 47,384 in 2010. This is a 1.9 percent drop according to the Massachusetts Association of …
