UPDATE: 16 Percent Turns Out for Election, Vote Incumbents Back to Board

Visit Northborough Patch for updates on results in the 2012 Northborough Town Election. 10 a.m. The tally so far is 58 voters turned out to Proctor; 62 at Lincoln; 63 at Peaslee; and 120 at Zeh.  2 p.m. 171 at the Peaslee School 4 p.m. The tally is 182 at Proctor, 186 at Lincoln and 266 at Zeh 5 p.m. Stopping to chat with sign holders at all the voting locations, most repeated the same thing: "It's been slow. Very slow." Inside, election workers echoed the sentiment, but a check on numbers as compared to last year's town election shows an increase. Maybe a slight increase, but an increase nonetheless. Northborough's town election is Monday, May 14. Write it down and plan on voting. There are no ballot questions this year, and the only contended race is for Board of Selectmen, where two newcomers—Lisa Maselli and Howie Stone—are vying for seats against longtime members Bill Pantazis and Jeff Amberson. Here is the latest list of those who have taken out nomination papers for the 2012 election. A * indicates an incumbent. Moderator/one year term, one seat open:  Frederick A. 4) Fed Ex has been issued a cease and desist order after a town worker complains. Bartlett Pond is being contaminated. Why is there not a person to oversee and check on these bigger projects to make sure they adhere to the rules and regulations? Perhaps, new selectmen can do something about it.
