Sorry Kids, You're Going to School on Wednesday

Power has been restored to the schools, and scheduling will commence as planned.

Be sure to lay out that first day of school outfit Tuesday night. Superintendent Dr. Charles Gobron confirmed that all ten schools in the Northborough-Southborough School district will be starting, and starting on time, on Wednesday, Aug. 31. "Power has been restored to each school and teachers are at work today [Tuesday] in professional development activities," said Gobron, as well as preparation for the arrival of students tomorrow. I would like to express my sincere thanks to the Northborough and Southborough safety officials who have done an outstanding job helping us during the aftermath of the hurricane."

Melican School. Last week, State Treasurer Steven Grossman, Chairman of the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA), and Katherine Craven, MSBA executive director, announced that the MSBA Board of Directors has approved $59.5 million for 23 Green Repair Projects in 12 districts. According to a letter sent to the Northborough Board of Selectmen, the MSBA's board voted to approve approximately $309,096 in grant money toward the boiler replacement …
