The Boroughs Buried: The board unanimously squashed Gina Marie Eilert's plans for a part time bar in town when it denied an alcohol license. Eilert had wanted to open up The Boroughs at 261 Main St. to run what she called a "neighborhood style bar" open on Friday and Saturday nights only. Based on discrepancies that popped up in an interview with Detective Brian Griffin (who spoke at the meeting) and the fact that Eilert holds a fulltime job with an hour commute, the board felt the license should be denied. A comprehensive package for those of you who may have missed your Board of Selectmen meeting on Monday night.
It was standing room only on Monday night at the Board of Selectmen's meeting, many of which attended to debate and discuss the proposed Northborough Dog Park, which Friends of the Northborough Dog Park are working to build on Route 20 and Hitching Post Lane on property that is commonly referred to as "Mustang Stables." It was a packed agenda, and here are some highlights, including the dog park debaucle.
