The Mexican grill will add to your food choices at the shopping plaza.
Soon, you will be able to grab a stuffed burrito or a couple of tacos to fend off the hunger while shopping at Northborough Crossing. Qdoba Mexican Grill is coming to the Crossing. The Board of Selectmen approved a common victualler license for the chain restaurant at its most recent meeting, welcoming the new eatery to town. It will be located at 4101 Shops Way, sitting between Dick's Sporting Goods and IHOP. A representative from Qdoba said the restaurant will have 71 interior seats, and 21 outside that will be used seasonally. Hours of operation are 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. seven days a week. This month, Police Chief Mark Leahy issued a letter to Ronald E. Dionne, the district highway director of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation. Leahy, in his letter, urged Dionne to assist the police, and town, in reducing the number of accidents that have escalated since Northborough Crossing has opened. The board approves a license for a new iHOP at Northborough Crossing.
By late July or early August, you'll be able to get your flapjack fix over at Northborough Crossing. Mr. Stax, a franchisee of IHOP restaurants for Massachusetts, is opening a chain at Northborough Crossing. Terry Case, VP of operations for Mr. Stax, said this will be the fifty-third restaurant operated by this franchise company in the state. Others are located in Cambridge, Salem, Dedham, Plymouth and Brockton. Hours will be 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. to midnight on weekends. As with other IHOP restaurants, no beer or wine will be served. The IHOP located in Shrewsbury will not close as a result of the new location, said Case, as it is operated by a difference franchisee.

Kids' clothes, crafts and coffee are making their way next to Shops Way.
Within the next few months, the Northborough Crossing will add crafts, coffee and kids' clothes to its plethora of shopping options. Carter’s, the children's clothing store, will open its doors on Thursday, Jan. 26. Michaels, an arts and crafts specialty retailer, will be open in its Shrewsbury location in White City until Feb. 2, opening in its new spot at Northborough Crossing on Feb. 3, and celebrating with a grand opening on Feb. 12. A ribbon cutting at 9:45 a.m. kicks off a weeklong celebration that includes workshops, craft demonstrations and prizes. Burger King is set to open at Northborough Crossing.
Last week, at the Board of Selectmen meeting, District Manager Robert Smith said he was hoping Burger King at Northborough Crossing would open "after Christmas and before New Year's." It looks like the opening is right on schedule, and, according to a contractor at the site on Wednesday, pending a positive inspection from the Fire Department, "we'll be open on Thursday." Burger King's located at the mouth of the entrance to Northborough Crossing, next to BJ's Gas, on the corner of Route 20. The Home of the Whopper is presently the only restaurant located at Northborough Crossing, besides the Cafe at Wegmans. Developers have voiced concern that it has been difficult to attract restaurants to the development.
