Northborough Man Injured on Mt. Washington

A Northborough hiker was injured and transported to the hospital this weekend while hiking in New Hampshire.

A Northborough man was injured while climbing Mt. Washington this weekend. Thomas Walsh, 58, was hurt at 10:45 a.m. on June 11 while hiking on the Huntington Ravine trail with his son, Martin, according o the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department. The two were headed up the Huntington Ravine headwall when it started to rain, and decided to return when Walsh flipped and fell approximately 10 feet on the wet rocks, according to NH Fish and Game.  The fall injured Walsh's lower leg significantly and he placed a cell call for assistance, with Lt. Douglas Gralenski of the NH Fish and Game sent out a rescue response. According to Fish and Game, the injury occurred just above the area known as “the fan." "This area is known for its difficult …
