A Memorial Day Assembly, Book Donations, a Career Fair, a Triathlon, and a Storytime

Memorial Day is Monday and Proctor School wanted all to remember it is just not a day off. Other schools are keeping busy with community service, career awareness, and other programs and events.

Memorial Day Assembly: Proctor School remembered the veterans who have served and are currently serving our country with an all school assembly.  Principal Margaret Donohoe has been holding this assembly for many years. “It’s a way for all of us to not just think of Monday as a day off,” she said. She also recognized Adam Costello, a father of Proctor students, who is currently serving our country. The Community That Reads Together

Northborough celebrated, along with the rest of the country, Community Reading Day this week.

Communities across the country join in Community Reading Day, and Northborough has taken part for more than 20 years. Northborough students in grades K-8 were all given a reading by local readers that included business people, the superintendent, school committee members, municipal workers, journalists, pastors, members of the Northborough Rotary and dozens of others. Northborough Patch joined in the action, too, reading The Keeping Corner by Kashmira Sheth to a sixth grade class at the Melican Middle School. The 8th graders got to hear The Hunger Games, which might have been a little bit easier to deliver.   Each book was signed by the reader and donated to the library. "The nice thing is this was paid for by grants," said Melican …

Family Drumming, Patriotic Singing, Recycling, a Road Race and a Fair

I just paid $22.87 for an iPad2-64GB and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $675 which only cost me $62.81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, http://BuzzSave.com   more ›
