A Norwood man described by a judge as "volatile and dangerous" is being held without bail after he allegedly kidnapped and beat a woman in Northborough over the weekend. Judge Vito Virzi ordered Robert W. Ferris, 28, of 410 Buckminster Dr., Norwood, held without bail after a dangerousness hearing in Westborough District Court on Tuesday. In making the ruling, Virzi said Ferris posed a danger to both the unidentified victim and the community if released, citing both his past record—he has been charged with assault five times previously and has an outstanding permanent restraining order taken out by another woman—as well as the details of the current case.
