Photos of Nude Girls Shared in Shrewsbury; Could it Happen Here?

With the ever-growing concern of inappropriate electronic sharing, local police departments address the issue.

With the recent news about several nude photos of Shrewsbury High School girls being posted on the internet, parents are again reminded of the dangers that lurk in the electronic world of today. As with many towns, Northborough's police department is aware of the potential problem, and have dealt with cases of inappropriate Internet behavior (some that have led to arrests). The department also proactively addresses the concern along with the schools. Protest Over SOPA May Have Stopped Bill

Congressman Jim McGovern opposed the internet piracy act, and so did many others. The message made its way to the House.

Congressman Jim McGovern, D-Worcester, commented on his Facebook page, "While internet piracy is an issue that should be addressed, HR 3261 (SOPA), as written is unwise, unfair, and against what I believe are fundamental rights for all Americans. I plan on voting against the current legislation, although the GOP is now indicating that they will not bring SOPA to the floor for a vote at all." Darrell Issa, congressman, echoed that the SOPA bill would not make it to the House floor for a vote, but that PIPA (Protect IP Act), remains concerning to Issa, as reported on zdnet.com. Although today's protest has brought attention to both SOPA and PIPA. It is not the end of this legislation, however one thing remans that these proposed bill will significantly impact the internet that we currently know and will impact future innovations based on the open nature of the internet. UPDATE: Northborough PD Undercover Work Leads to the Arrest of Westminster Man Who Enticed a Juvenile

Northborough police arrest Westminster man in connection with enticing a child under 16.

A Westminster man was arrested by Northborough Police and charged with enticing a child under the age of 16. Christopher Foster, 21, of 34 Battles Road, Westminster was charged Thursday after an investigation that showed inappropriate contact using the Internet, as well as text messaging between the suspect and juvenile victim, said police. Detective Sgt. Brian Griffin of the Northborough Police Department said they were made aware of the situation, and launched an undercover investigation involving posing as a 13-year-old girl through text messaging.
