A search warrant led to the arrest of a Worcester woman.
A search warrant conducted by Boylston and Northborough police departments has led to the arrest of a Worcester woman for break-ins that occurred in both towns. Colleen Stowe, 41, 11 Varney St., Worcester, was arrested by Boylston police for a house break that occurred in its town, and Northborough will be taking out charges "in the coming days," said police. Police conducted the search warrant at Stowe's residence on Monday, Feb. 25, during which they found stolen items from a February break-in that occurred at 38 Ball St. in Northborough. "Both towns had break-ins on Feb 21and both were relatively close to each other," said Northborough Sgt. Det. Brian Griffin. "We spoke with Boylston and compared notes and evidence recovered at the …

The housebreaks appear to be related, say police.
Over the past couple of weeks police have been experiencing a rash of housebreaks, with two more occurring earlier this week. Most of these burglaries have been occurring during the daytime—11 a.m. and 3 p.m.—and in different neighborhoods, said police. There have, however, been a few nighttime breaks, as reported on the Northborough police Facebook page. The most recent occurred on West Street and Mohawk Drive. "They appear to be connected to the others B&Es that we have had this month," said Det. Brian Griffin. "The suspect has been going into the bedroom looking for jewelry, and is causing extensive damage to the side or rear doors." The West Street break happened around noontime, when the homeowner headed out for a brief period of time…

Another house break on Howard Street makes eight for the town in the past week.
On Wednesday evening, Northborough police responded to a residence on Howard Street that had been burglarized at some point during the day. The homeowner, who had been gone from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. that day, returned home to find that his house had been broken into, the suspect gaining entry by breaking a second floor window. Mostly electronic items were stolen. "Obviously in light of all the recent breaks we feel that it is possible that the person who broke into this house may be responsible for the other breaks that we have had," said Sgt. Det. Brian Griffin. In a one week period, eight homes have been broken into, and one attempted break-in, in Northborough. "In some cases, houses have been alarmed and dogs have been present," said …
