Cops: Boys Lost After Running Ahead on Trail
The three young boys were all fine, but their separation from their parents Wednesday afternoon led to a police search.
Northborough Police on Wednesday night issued a press release about the successful search for three missing boys earlier in the day: On Wednesday, Dec. 26, at 12:15 p.m., State Police received a 911 call from the parents of three young boys reporting that they had gone into the woods for a hike and became separated from the parents. Two brothers, ages 8 and 11 from Northborough, who had been on the trail before, along with an 8-year-old cousin from Chicago ran ahead on the trail and became lost. After walking the length of the loop trail, and not finding the boys, the parents called police. There was bad weather coming and they are little kids. Coyotes and rabid animals pose a real threat. There's also a heightened sensitivity over child safety these days. I trust the Northborough PD to do the right thing. What if they DIDN'T respond this way and the kids were not found before nightfall? No, this was the right thing to do, cost notwithstanding. more ›
