Health and Human Services Secretary John Polanowicz, who is from Northborough, discusses Governor Deval Patrick’s growth agenda and investments in health and human services programs at the Corridor Nine Chamber of Commerce in Westborough on Thursday. Secretary Polanowicz highlights the governor’s investments in education, innovation and infrastructure to spur economic development in the region. The CMRPC is working on a grant to support development in Northborough, Shrewsbury, Westborough and Berlin, as part of the 495 MetroWest Development Compact project.
Riding a wave of economic and overall development in Northborough, the town knows that the development is only enhanced when it operates as a cog in a local wheel, rolling forward with surrounding towns. The Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission (CMRPC) is applying for the 2012 Community Innovation Challenge Grant, which seeks funds for "implemenation activities." As part of the 495 MetroWest Development Compact project, which assists communities with the resource-intensive aspect of implementation of a regional initiative, the CMRPC will use funds from the grant to work with Northborough, Shrewsbury, Westborough and Berlin. Why waste Taxpayers' monies to study 100-times-over new growth? We all know that for all the New Tax Growth the Town achieved, all of the new tax monies collected went into Town Hall spending AND NONE went to REDUCE Residential Property Taxes.
