Our local weather specialist says our "next bit of winter weather" is coming Monday morning.
It ain't over yet. Jim Arnold, weather specialist with Shrewsbury Emergency Management, said it looks like our extra bit of winter weather is arriving Monday morning in the form of snow, sleet, freezing rain .... and then finally rain. "A warm front approaching from the west and southwest late tonight and tomorrow will bring a wintry mix of precipitation beginning around dawn Monday and continuing throughout much of the day," said Arnold. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory, corroborating Arnold's predictions with a forecast that also calls for freezing rain and sleet. The National Weather Service is predicting some slippery conditions for tonight.
With snow and sleet transitioning to freezing rain by 10 p.m., things are bound to get slick out in Northborough. And we won't even mention the power lines yet. The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook and Winter Weather Advisory for much of New England. In Northborough, the forecast details of up to two inches of snow with precipitation transitioning over to freezing rain by 10 p.m. tonight. Weather predictions say 90 percent chance of a snow shower.
According to the National Weather Service, there's a 90 percent chance of precipitation on Monday night. And for Northborough, that translates into some snow showers accumulating to about an inch or so. With rain a high possibility on Tuesday, freezing rain is likely before 4 p.m., followed by ... more rain.
