Route 20 Detour This Weekend

The reconstruction project on Route 20 will close the center this weekend.

Information courtesy of Police Chief Mark Leahy As part of the Route 20 reconstruction project through the center of Northborough, CSX Railroad will replace their Main Street (Route 20) rail crossing this weekend. Beginning at 6 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, and continuing nonstop until the work is completed on Sunday evening, Dec. 2, Main Street (Route 20) will be detoured around the work site. Police officers will be stationed to assist motorists throughout the project. The primary Main Street (Route 20) detour for cars and small trucks will use South and Summer Streets to bypass the work site. Main Street (Route 20) will be closed on the west end of the job at the intersection of Main And South Streets (Route 20 at Route 135). On the east …

Otis Street Update: Town 'Trying to Complete Project as Quickly as Possible'

Here is the latest Otis Street update, as posted by the town.

Otis Street will remain one way southbound between Tomblin Hill Road and Lawrence Street as work continues. Only residents and the employees working in the affected buildings and deliveries will be allowed access between Route 9 and Lawrence Street. This traffic will be two-way. Metro will continue to have police officers directing traffic in order to alleviate any backups and to try to keep traffic flowing smoothly. Police details will be informed that traffic going to businesses residences along Otis Street should be allowed access. "We appreciate your patience, and want you to know we are trying to complete this project as quickly as possible so you can resume your normal traffic patterns," reads the notice.
