Gregoire Edges Levy in Rep Rematch

The Fourth Middlesex District includes parts of Westborough, Northborough and Marlborough.

Voters returned Danielle Gregoire to the Legislature on Tuesday, when she defeated incumbent Fourth Middlesex District State Rep. Steven Levy. Tuesday’s election was the second straight race between Gregoire, a Democrat, and Levy, a Republican, both of Marlborough. Levy won their 2010 contest by about 100 votes. Levy said tonight that preliminary results had this year's gap at 233 votes. The district includes Precincts 1 and 3 in Westborough; Precincts 1 and 3 in Northborough; and these areas of Marlborough: Ward 2, Precinct 1; Wards 3, 4, 5 and 6;  and Ward 7, Precinct 2. "It feels great. We worked really hard," Gregoire said tonight. "I don't think we did anything differently, but we did things more. We started knocking on doors in …

My Levy lawn sign was hacked apart. Let's hope the Gregoire party can find a better way to express their opinion as they now represent me.   more ›

Rep. Naughton Endorses Danielle Gregoire

State rep. Harold Naughton endorsed Danielle Gregoire, candidate for 4th Middlesex District.

Rep. Harold Naughton recently endorsed the candidacy of Danielle Gregoire, who is running for 4th Middlesex District. Rep. Naughton's endorsement letter: I have had the honor and privilege of representing you in the Massachusetts House of Representatives for eighteen years. Due to recent re-districting based upon the 2010 census, precincts 1 and 3 in Northborough will no longer be in my district. I was at Fort Benning, Georgia, preparing to deploy to Kandahar, Afghanistan when I learned of these actions. Davis Street, Northgate and Indian Meadows were literally the very first neighborhoods I knocked in June of 1994. You have always been very generous and welcoming to me, and my efforts on your behalf. While I am saddened by this change, I …

What he did vote against was an unaffordable budget that grew $2.5 billion over the previous year because it lacked any of the reforms needed to end wasteful spending. You also failed to mention that Danielle voted against the …   more ›

Candidate Gregoire Owes Fines, According to Fiscal Watchdogs

The MA Fiscal Alliance says Danielle Gregoire, candidate for state rep, owes money to the state.

Danielle Gregoire, a Democrat who is running against incumbent Steven Levy for state represenative for the 4th Middlesex district, is late with fines to the state, according to Massachusetts Fiscal Alliance. MA Fiscal Alliance, a watchdog group that "advocates for right of center economic, fiscal and good government issues," sent a letter last week to Gregoire that states she refused to make payments in the amount of $200, $25 and $25 to the Office of Campaign and Political Finance after being contacted 13 times. "As a result, OCPF was forced to send Ms. Gregoire's debt to a third party vendor for collections," said Paul Craney, executive director for MA Fiscal Alliance. "We are calling on Ms. Gregoire to immediately repay the Commonwealth…

Gregoire, on Sunday, responded to Patch: "I did not know my campaign committee owed these fees. The matter was resolved immediately upon it being brought to my attention." How does she expect us to believe that she did not see any of the 15 (not 13) letters OCPF mailed to her personalIy at her home address? I don't know what "immediately" means to Ms. Gregoire but to me it means you sat right …   more ›
