More copper theft in Northborough; police say be on the lookout.
Northborough police responded to another incident of breaking and entering that involved the theft of copper from an unoccupied building. On Friday, July 27, at approximately 8:44 a.m., Northborough police took a report of breaking and entering into an unoccupied building on Country Candle Lane. A new residence under construction, the perpretrator cut out and stole the copper piping from within the building. There have been several similar reports during the last couple of weeks involving copper theft in town, said police. Although it may be determined that the incidents are connected, police say they are actively investigating the incidents separately. It seems to me that the Northborough Police Dept does not have enough resource to apprehend this group of thieves aside from arresting all the plumbers and their apprentices in Northborough on suspicion. The chief needs to apply to his BOS liaison, Amberson for more personnel.   more ›
