Bruins Visit Lincoln Street School

Kids got to scrimmage with the pros.

Submitted courtesy of Patricia Rollins, physical education teacher at Lincoln Street School The Lincoln Street School hosted the Boston Bruins Youth Hockey and Blades, the Bruin Mascot, to their school on the morning of Nov. 14. The event was scheduled for Oct. 30, but was rescheduled due to power outages caused by Hurricane Sandy. Members of the Boston Bruins staff and alumnus visited the school and had an interactive program for grades 3 to 5 providing them with a Bruins street hockey clinic. Blades, the Boston Bruin mascot, visited room to room to K-2 classrooms. The day was broken up into three sessions for grades 3, 4, and 5, which consisted of more than 120 students. The kids were greeted by a speech from Bruins’ alumnus Tommy Songin…

Behind a 37-save performance from goalie Tim Thomas, the Boston Bruins won the Stanley Cup for the first time since 1972 with a 4-0 shutout of the Vancouver Canucks. Thomas won the Conn Smythe trophy as the playoff MVP, Mark Recchi retired after winning his third Cup and four decades of pain were purged for Bruins fans. So how do you feel?
