Thieves stole electronics from a home on Valentine Road on Thursday.
Residents arrived home to 60 Valentine Rd. on Friday to find their home had been broken into, thieves taking a TV off the wall, a Wii console and some Wii games. Police responded to the home on Friday shortly after 7:30 p.m., meeting with owner Anne Shaughnessy, who said her son had gotten home from school around 3:30 the previous day and noticed the items were missing. Police canvassed the area, attempting to interview neighbors, who were not home at the time. The matter is under investigation.

The following cases were heard in Westborough District Court.
Wednesday, Dec. 19 Damien R. Hughes, 19, of 19 Nash St., Westborough, was arrested by Westborough police and charged with receiving stolen property, use of a motor vehicle without authorization (second offense), breaking and entering in the nighttime for a felony and larceny of a credit card. Judge Robert B. Calagione ordered Hughes held on $500 cash or $5,000 surety and scheduled a pretrial hearing for Jan. 4. Police said they were summonsed to Not Your Average Joe's on Wednesday where two teenagers were attempting to use gift cards that had been reported stolen from a motor vehicle. Police also recovered a stolen Toyota Corolla near the restaurant and later investigated a break-in into a garage on Andrews Street that included the theft …

Northborough police arrested a local man on Thursday evening for the Thanksgiving Day theft.
Northborough Police have arrested a man for breaking into East Coast Golf Academy and Practice Center in the early morning hours of Thanksgiving day. On Thursday evening, police arrested Brian Laprade, 32, of 9002 Avalon Dr., Northborough. Laprade was arrested on a warrant for his involvement in the Thanksgiving Day breaking and entering of the facility. He was also charged with stealing his girlfriend's car, said police. Laprade will be arraigned at Westborough District Court on Friday morning.

More copper theft in Northborough; police say be on the lookout.
Northborough police responded to another incident of breaking and entering that involved the theft of copper from an unoccupied building. On Friday, July 27, at approximately 8:44 a.m., Northborough police took a report of breaking and entering into an unoccupied building on Country Candle Lane. A new residence under construction, the perpretrator cut out and stole the copper piping from within the building. There have been several similar reports during the last couple of weeks involving copper theft in town, said police. Although it may be determined that the incidents are connected, police say they are actively investigating the incidents separately. A suspect has been charged with possessing burglary items as well as trespassing.
A Westborough man has been charged with breaking and entering in the daytime after they discovered him looking into an abandoned building on West Main Street with a crowbar in hand. Christopher Shaw, 31, 33 Hopkinton Rd., Westborough, was charged by Northborough police with possession of burglarious equipment, breaking and entering in the daytime and trespassing. Police responded to calls of suspicious activity at 39 West Main St., where an abandoned building sits, shortly after 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 14. The homeowner of a Green Street home believes her house was broken into while away on business.
Northborough police responded on Thursday to a past breaking and entering at 342 Green St. The homeowner believes her house was broken into some time over the past two weeks, while she was away on business. Jewelry and electronics as well as some other items have been reported as missing from the home, according to police. Police said it is unclear how the suspects entered there home, as there were no obvious signs of forced entry. It seems to me that the Northborough Police Dept does not have enough resource to apprehend this group of thieves aside from arresting all the plumbers and their apprentices in Northborough on suspicion. The chief needs to apply to his BOS liaison, Amberson for more personnel.   more ›
