Selectmen Chairman Files for Bankruptcy

William Pantazis, chairman of the Northborough board, has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

William J. Pantazis, who is in his fourth term on the Northborough Board of Selectmen and is now the chairman, has filed for bankruptcy, reported the Worcester Telegram and Gazette. The Chapter 7 filing lists $825,905 in debt and nearly $17,000 in back income taxes. A debt of $215,000 that Pantazis owes after a Worcester Superior Court judgment is included in the filing. The money, according to the Telegram, is owed to his mother Nancy Pantazis and sister Anne Fidrych, who is the widow of major leaguer Mark Fidrych.

Born and raised in Northborough, William "Bill" Pantazis has served three terms on the Northborough Board of Selectmen, and would love to go for another term. Married with six children, he is the owner/operator of Diamondscape Landscaping Company as well as a Merry Maids franchse.
