Police Nab Two Men and One Woman After Early Morning Robbery/Assault

A man riding his bike was robbed and assaulted on Saturday morning.

An elderly man was robbed by two men while riding his bike on Pleasant Street in Northborough early Saturday morning, said Northborough police. The man had been riding his bike before 5 a.m. on Pleasant Street when he heard two doors close, and he rode past two men that were standing outside of a car. The car passed him again while he stopped to pick flowers on the side of the road, police said. The two men approached him, grabbed him, and tried to get his wallet. The victim yelled for police and during the struggle he was knocked to the ground. The men ran off and they were seen getting into a white car, which had drive past them to pick them up. 'Volatile and Dangerous' Kidnapping Suspect Held without Bail

The suspect allegedly kidnapped and beat a woman in Northborough.

A Norwood man described by a judge as "volatile and dangerous" is being held without bail after he allegedly kidnapped and beat a woman in Northborough over the weekend.   Judge Vito Virzi ordered Robert W. Ferris, 28, of 410 Buckminster Dr., Norwood, held without bail after a dangerousness hearing in Westborough District Court on Tuesday.   In making the ruling, Virzi said Ferris posed a danger to both the unidentified victim and the community if released, citing both his past record—he has been charged with assault five times previously and has an outstanding permanent restraining order taken out by another woman—as well as the details of the current case.  The police report and other documents related to the case have been sealed, so it…

The following cases were heard in Westborough District Court.

Christopher A. Shaw, 32, of 33 Hopkinton Rd., Westborough, was summonsed on a complaint from the Northborough police department on charges of breaking and entering in the nighttime and four counts of conspiracy. Judge Robert Calgione set bail at $500 cash and set a pretrial hearing for Oct. 31. Northborough police allege Shaw conspired with another person to steal and sell copper piping from vacant homes in town.   Keefe J. Morrison, 30, of 33 White Court, Clinton, was summonsed on a complaint from the Northborough police department on charges of defacing property and breaking and entering in the nighttime to commit a felony. The following cases were heard in Westborough District Court.

Monday, Oct. 1 Brian A. Dolliff, 35, of 43 South St., Apt. 2, Westborough, was arraigned before Judge Vito Virzi on charges of operating under the influence of liquor, third offense, and failure to stop or yield. Dolliff had been arrested by Westborough police early Monday morning on East Main Street. In his report, the arresting officer said he had to swerve his cruiser to avoid being struck by Dolliff's car. Dolliff was released on $2,000 bail, ordered not to drive a motor vehicle, and is due back in court on Nov. 14. Jeffrey M. Lavin, 35, of 3 Versailles St., Marlborough, was summonsed to court on a complaint from the Southborough Police Department on charges of driving with a suspended license and driving an uninsured motor vehicle. …

Cops: Northborough Man Threw Can at Victim

A local man is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and drug possession.

A Northborough man faces charges of domestic assault and posession of a class E substance after allegedly throwing a can at his girlfriend. Jason A. Chaves, 39, 12 Rutland Rd., Northborough, has been charged with domestic A&B, assault with a dangerous weapon and possession of a Class E substance. Northborough police responded to a home on Rutland Road early morning on Monday, Aug. 13, after getting a call of past domestic violence. The victim said her boyfriend threw a can at her, striking her in the eye. According to the police report, her eye was swollen and bruised and there was liquid splattered on the wall behind where she was standing when hit by the can. Road Rage Incident Heads to Pretrial in August

Police charged a pair with assault after getting into an argument with another driver.

A Marlborough woman and a Hudson man have been charged with assault and disorderly conduct after a December incident that occurred near a stop sign at BJ's at Northborough Crossing. Yvette Diaz, 47, of 113 Elm St., Apt. 1, Marlborough, and Thomas Rivera, 33, 8 Felton St., Apt. 1, Hudson, were summonsed to court on an April 11 complaint by Northborough police and charged with assault and battery and disorderly conduct.  According to the police report, Diaz and Rivera got into a disagreement with a driver at a stop sign near BJ’s in Northborough Crossing. Cop Stats: Family Offenses

Family Offenses can mean a variety of things. Some calls for family offenses result in arrest. Here are some interesting statistics.

“Family Offense” is an internal call classification, specific to Northborough, that includes incidents involving a range of things such as domestic abuse, child in need of services, substance abuse and mental health issues. "It's family arguments, household acrimony or other circumstances that come to the attention of the police as a result of a call for service," Lt. Bill Lyver. "This category does not include crimes such as child neglect, abuse or sexual abuse and assault that does not involve family members." In 2011, Northborough police logged 121 calls for family offenses (with 33 of these resulting in arrest), and in 2010 responded to 131. Many family offense calls, said Lyver, result in arrests for domestic assault and battery. From…

In Court: Man Admits to Assault, Driver's Fifth OUI Offense

The following cases involve Northborough residents and/or occurred in Northborough.

Matthew Bircher, 30, of 72 Central St., Gardner, was arrested Feb. 5 by Northborough police on charges of OUI liquor and number plate violation. Judge Robert Gardner Jr. continued the case to Feb. 17. Kenneth B. Williams, 60, 6 Pilgram Ave., Worcester, was arrested on Feb. 7 by Northborough police on charges of OUI (fifth offense), negligent operation of a motor vehicle, driving with a suspended license (for OUI), marked lanes violation. Williams posted $10,000 cash bail, and was placed on house arrest and ordered to have no alcohol. Judge Vito Virzi scheduled a pre-trial hearing on Feb. 23. Man Charged With Assault After Argument with Son-in-Law

A Northborough man was arrested for assaulting his son-in-law after a verbal argument escalated.

A Northborough man was charged with assaulting his son-in-law, allegedly punching and kicking him, as well as pulling a knife. Eladio J. Deleon, 47, of 17 Hudson St. in Northborough, was arrested by Northborough police on Aug. 2 and charged with assault and battery and assaut with a dangerous weapon. According to a criminal complaint document signed by Eric Michael, law enforcement officer, Deleon was involved in a verbal argument with his son-in-law Jonathan Restrepo that turned physical when Deleon reportedly shoved and kicked Restrepo in the groin area, according to Mr. and Mrs. Restrepo. The complaint continues to say that when Restrepo attempted to defend himself, Deleon went into the kitchen and returned with a kitchen knife. …
