A bus containing the fun-time basketball team was involved in a MVA this morning.
En route to another game in Bangor, ME, a bus containing members of the Harlem Globetrotters was reportedly involved in an accident on 290 this morning. According to reports, the accident occurred near exit 25. A spokesperson for Massachusetts State Police confirmed that the "minor crash" happened at 8:23 a.m. near Exit 25 in Northborough, as the basketball team was heading eastbound in the tour bus. "I know there was another vehicle involved, but there were no injuries, and they were on their way after that," said the MSP spokesperson. The road was cleared by 8:45 a.m.

A tractor trailer traveling east on Route 20 lost its trailer connection, causing a crash with a passing vehicle.
A tractor trailer traveling east on Route 20 on Tuesday morning lost its trailer connection, causing a crash with an oncoming vehicle. The trailer, hitting roughly paved terrain near the Massachusetts Department of Transportation's pit in Northborough, lost its trailer connection and became disabled, the nose of the trailer landing on the pavement behind the tractor, said police. A short time later, the trailer unit was struck by an oncoming vehicle on Route 20. On board the trailer, said the report, were four barrels of corrosive material, which were not compromised as a result of the crash. Police responded to the scene of the one-car rollover.
Police responded to the report of a single-car rollover on Route 290 West earlier this evening. It happened near the Church Street exit. According to reports, the victim self-extricated and the sole occupant was transported to UMass. Traffic was backed up for miles waiting for the scene to be cleared. MA State Police and Northborough Fire Department reports indicate that an ambulance was on the scene to transport the occupant(s) to a nearby hospital. More information will be reported as it becomes available.

The other contributing factor is the speed limit on that whole stretch of Rte. 20 from South St. in Shrewsbury to West Main St. Northboro. With multiple stop lights along the way and others needed (i.e. entering/exiting from the YMCA & Christmas Tree Shops onto 20), it's a wonder there aren't more accidents.
