Snow? Think Summer Camp on Saturday

The Westboro Tennis and Swim Club's 9th Annual Local Business, Health and Wellness Expo runs at 35 Chauncy St. from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, the day after the season's first major snowstorm is set to end.

Summer will be in the air in Westborough the morning after about 10 inches of snow blanket the town.

The Westboro Tennis and Swim Club's 9th Annual Local Business, Health and Wellness Expo runs at 35 Chauncy St. from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, the day after the season's first major snowstorm is set to end.

Admission is free to the expo, which will feature about 30 vendors.

"One of the biggest draws is it's the first day that we sell our summer camp membership," Owner and General Manager Justin Lundberg says.

"So, parents usually want to get their summers locked up for their kids at the weeks that they choose. Now is really the best time to do that."

The expo comes as many people have resolved to "reinvest in health and wellness for the new year," Lundberg notes.

The Boston Ski and Tennis Club, the Grille at Westborough Country Club, and the DoubleTree by Hilton Boston-Westborough are among the new vendors this year, Westboro Tennis and Swim Club Marketing and Membership Advisor Donna Drohan says.

Car Wash and Detailing of Westborough, Central One Federal Credit Union, and Especially For Pets are among the vendors returning from last year, she says.

"We ask them to have something to demonstrate or display. We also ask them to have one-day specials or giveaways," Lundberg says.

"It's a really good opportunity for people to see some of our local businesses."

WXLO will broadcast from the expo, Drohan says. And the mascots from the Worcester Sharks, the Boston Lobsters and the New England Revolution will attend too.
