Get a Taste of Theater, Wine and Beer on Saturday

The Ghost Light Players of MetroWest holds its first fundraiser, at Julio's Liquors.

Saturday night, visitors to Julio's Liquors will get a taste of theater as well as wine and beer.

The Ghost Light Players of MetroWest will perform "scenes from the upcoming seasons" throughout the theater group's wine and beer tasting fundraiser, at 7 p.m. at Julio's, 140 Turnpike Road, member Emily Goldfarb says.

Tickets are $20 in advance at the online box office at www.ghostlightplayers.com or by calling 508-263-0052, or $25 at the door.

"Ghost Light Players has an exciting season planned for 2014, including Godspell the musical, Shakespeare's MacBeth (offered free to the public) and a youth summer program in July," Goldfarb said during an e-mail interview.

"We decided to hold a fundraiser in order to help finance this season, as well as offer our audiences and supporters a fun evening and a chance to socialize with troupe members."

Based in Marlborough, the theater group opens its season May 2 to May 4 with Godspell, Goldfarb said. Auditions are Feb. 3 and Feb. 5.

Saturday's event is the Players' first fundraiser, Goldfarb said. There will be light snacks, light desserts and a 50/50 raffle available.

"We've always received tremendous support from the MetroWest community, and we hope folks will come out and enjoy themselves." Goldfarb said.
