Monday Essentials: Kriz Named Wheelock Cross-Country Captain

2. Root for the Tomahawks.

Here is Monday's Algonquin sports schedule:

  • Varsity field hockey: at Nashoba, 3:30 p.m.
  • Golf: at Quabbin, at Dunroamin Country Club, 3:30 p.m.
  • JV volleyball: vs. Marlborough, 3:30 p.m.
  • Freshman volleyball: vs. Marlborough, 3:30 p.m.
  • JV field hockey: at Nashoba, 5 p.m.
  • Varsity volleyball: vs. Marlborough, 5 p.m.
3. Congratulate Alexander Kriz.

The Northborough resident and Algonquin alum has been named a cross-country team captain at Wheelock College where he is a sophomore.

Saturday, Kriz led the Wheelock men by finishing 79th overall, with a time of 20:15:39, at the Roger Williams Invitational at Colt State Park in Bristol, R.I., according to Wheelock Director of Sports Information Alan Wickstrom.

Kriz beat his 5K personal best by 26 seconds, Wickstrom said.

4. Do you enjoy singing?

The Northboro Area Community Chorus begins rehearsals for its 42nd season at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

5. Discuss potential solar and medical marijuana bylaws.

At 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Town Hall Offices, the Northborough Planning Board will discuss these potential warrant articles for the 2014 annual town meeting.
