Admit it...it's the worst word you know too!!!

Have you heard the new curse word that's rolling around on the playgrounds here in Northborough?  This mom heard it and I have to say that it turned my stomach to hear it said so gleefully by children so young.  I know where they heard it too!  Our local television stations are airing newscasts that feature this word nearly every day lately.  I don't know why the FCC hasn't stepped in and stopped the madness.  I know, as a mom, it's my duty to share this horrible word with others so we can band together, do what we can to make it stop, but I don't even know that I can say it.

It's cold.  It's white.  It's everywhere.  It's...(c'mon, just breathe and say it!)...it's SNOW! 

I know, I know...some will claim that I am an over-protective mom who tries to shield her children from the horrors of real life.  This isn't true.  Weren't they there in '08 when we lost power during the ice storm?  What about the Halloween we went traipsing through the evil white substance back in 2011?  Oh no, the children have been exposed and still they glory in saying that word over and over again.  They gloat about the fat flakes that hurdle toward the earth, spreading misery wherever they touch.  They smile as landmarks disappear under a suffocating blanket of white.  They dance as the TV news crews cover the seemingly endless assault of horrific winter weather.

Well, not anymore.  This mom is taking a stand.  This mom is going to start spreading a new word.  A word that means life, joy, beauty.  A word that I would be proud to hear on the lips of every man, woman and child in town.  A word we should insist on hearing on the evening news.  So, people of Northborough...say it with me.  Say it loud.  Say it proud.  SPRING!!!!
