Northborough's Gittlen Running in One Run for Boston

Money will go to help those injured in the Boston Marathon bombings.

Sandra Gittlen of Northborough is running the One Run for Boston 2 fundraising event raising money for the One Fund, to benefit the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing victims last year.

The relay is a coast-to-coast run that is currently underway. Gittlen said she ran last year for the last leg, from Newton to Boston, and will be running the last two legs this year.

"I'm running because I had made it to the top of Heartbreak Hill last year when the bombs went off. This year has been spent trying to figure out why this happened. While I can't heal those injured (they could have been my family, friends and me), I can run two stages of this relay. I ran it last year and it has been the best antidote to the evil we experienced that day."
