ARHS Girls Soccer Heads to Finals

The Algonquin Regional High School varsity girls soccer team is one win away from the state semi-finals.
The Tomahawks advanced to the 2013 Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Girls Soccer Central Division 1 final by defeating host Nashoba, 1-0, in the bracket's semi-final round on Wednesday night, according to the tournament website.

Westborough advanced to the 2013 Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Girls Soccer Central Division 1 final by defeating Wachusett, 3-0, in the bracket's semi-final round at Worcester's Foley Stadium on Wednesday night, according to the tournament website.
Saturday's winner advances to the state semi-final against a Western Mass. team, WHS Director of Athletics Johanna DiCarlo said Thursday.
Algonquin defeated Westborough, 4-3, at WHS on Oct. 19, the teams' only encounter this season, according to the Midland-Wachusett League website.
Westborough (15-1-2 regular season) is seeded first in the 10-team tournament. Algonquin (13-2-3) is seeded third. Wachusett (9-3-6) is seeded fourth.
Westborough earned a first-round bye.
