ARHS Boys Cross-Country Places 3rd at Wachusett Invitational
Algonquin senior Sam Brazer finished the 5K seventh overall.
The Algonquin Regional High School boys cross-country team placed third in Class A during the 56th Annual Wachusett Invitational, held Saturday at Wachusett Regional High School in Holden.
The Tomahawks earned 75 points, finishing in 1:29:08.60, according to coolrunning.com. St. John's won the eight-team meet with 32 points (1:24:51.40). Wachusett was second with 51 points (1:26:22.30).
Algonquin senior Sam Brazer finished the 5K seventh overall, in 16:55.4. St. John's senior Connor Murphy won the race in 16:15.9. Wachusett sophomore Grant Hauver (16:18.3) and senior Cole Burgess (16:24.9) rounded out the top three.
Also placing in the top 20 for Algonquin were senior Robert Kerstens (12th, 17:46.9); senior Declan Healey (16th, 17:55.6) and sophomore Peter Byrne (18th, 18:02).
