Northborough's Henry Liu, who is 10, won a gold medal in the Advanced Division Kumite and bronze medal in Advanced Division Kata at the 2012 USA National Karate Tournament, which was held in July in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Both medals were earned after going through strenuous and intensive competition. This is the second time Liu won medals from USA Karate National Tournament since he earned his first Kumite gold medal in 2009.

Liu has been practicing karate at Massdojo in Shrewsbury under Sensei Eric Rossini for more than five years. Liu earned his black belt when he was 9, shortly after he won both gold medals in Advanced Kumite from the two prestigious international events: the Junior Olympic (2011, Las Vegas) and the US Open (2011, Las Vegas).
