Northborough Least Amount of Overweight Students, Says Statewide Report

Results from the Department Public Health reveal that Northborough's got fewer overweight kids than many other towns.

According to results of a Body Mass Index screening conducted during the 2010-2011 school year by the Department of Public Health, Northborough is among the towns with the least number of obese and overweight students.

Nearly one-third of Massachusetts students in grades 1, 4, 7 and 10 are overweight or obese, revealed the findings, as reported in the Worcester Telegram and Gazette.

The Northborough-Southborough school district ranked at 23.3 percent, joining Harvard and Lunenburg as others with low percentages.
