Annual Jazz Show Back at Algonquin

It's the big annual music event. Don't miss it.

For many years, the Northborough-Southborough Music parents, music faculty and Tri-M Honor Society have been hosting the Massachusetts Association of Jazz Educators (MAJE) festival at Algonquin Regional High School.

It's back again this year on Wednesday, March 13, from 3-9 p.m. at the high school.

Both of Algonquin's jazz bands join the performance schedule, playing for a panel of judges who are experts in the area of jazz performance and education.

"It's a great experience for our students," said Amy Collins, chair of the performing arts department at Algonquin. "After their performance, they receive a clinic with one of the judges and receive immediate feedback on their performance. There will be eight bands from around Central Massachusetts performing at this event."

The performances start with the Jazz II group at 3 p.m., an awards ceremony at 5 p.m., a performance by Jazz I at 7 p.m. and an awards ceremony at 8 p.m.
