  • Hello there! I am excited to teach your children the joys of making music. I believe that early exposure to the piano for young children needs to be fun, interactive, and teach musicianship as a whole and not just the notes on a page. My lessons will be based on Edwin Gordon’s theories of how children learn music best.  Children will move to the music, sing the notes, and learn to think musically. All of this will help the children to play “musically”. Many of us were taught to plunk out the notes, looking back and forth at the page, similar to learning to type.  In my lessons, the children will hear the melody, move to the rhythm and be able to express the music musically, and then move it to the piano where they can play musically. Most importantly, music making must be fun!
  • I recommend the group lessons, as children enjoy the social aspect of music making, and also learn much from observing each other make music. You may also choose the private option, or semi-private.  Lessons will be offered in my home in Berlin, 5 minutes from the center of Northborough. Your child will need a piano or high quality keyboard to practice on.
  • Please contact me by phone or by email as soon as possible. I am currently filling spaces for the fall, and space is limited. Lessons will be available on 2 weekday afternoons (to be determined based on your availability). Lessons are also available in the early to mid-afternoon for ½ day Kindergarteners and homeschooled children.
