Algonquin Passes Surprise Drug Search

No illegal drugs were uncovered during the search of the building and parking lots.

Algonquin Regional High School passed a surprise drug search Thursday.

Northborough Police, and state troopers with drug dogs, searched the building and parking lots, unannounced, at 9:30 a.m., and found nothing, Police Chief Mark Leahy said in a press release. "No individuals were searched by the dogs," he said.

No illegal drugs were uncovered, he said.

"We appreciate the cooperation of Principal Thomas Mead, his staff and students during the brief search," Leahy said.

"Superintendent Charles Gobron, Northborough Police Chief Mark Leahy and Southborough Police Chief Jane Moran commend the Algonquin students for helping to keep their campus drug-free."
