Why do these houses have to be built with such high ceilings? Everyone knows heat rises, so all the heat goes up to the ceiling. Talk about waste. Aren't we all trying to conserve our planet's energy and not be wasteful? Also, I sure wish Americans could think more like the Swedish people when it comes to our homes. (Don't get me wrong..I would only choose America as my home.) But we can all learn from others. Our culture is all about looking better than our neighbor and basically saying, "I am better than you. Look at my big house." In Sweden, that kind of thinking is embarrassing. No one would think of building a huge house, much bigger than their neighbor's house. They would be ashamed of their ego at doing such a thing.
