Rep. Naughton Endorses Danielle Gregoire

State rep. Harold Naughton endorsed Danielle Gregoire, candidate for 4th Middlesex District.

Rep. Harold Naughton recently endorsed the candidacy of Danielle Gregoire, who is running for 4th Middlesex District.

Rep. Naughton's endorsement letter:

I have had the honor and privilege of representing you in the Massachusetts House of Representatives for eighteen years. Due to recent re-districting based upon the 2010 census, precincts 1 and 3 in Northborough will no longer be in my district. I was at Fort Benning, Georgia, preparing to deploy to Kandahar, Afghanistan when I learned of these actions.

Davis Street, Northgate and Indian Meadows were literally the very first neighborhoods I knocked in June of 1994. You have always been very generous and welcoming to me, and my efforts on your behalf. While I am saddened by this change, I am heartened by the fact that I will still get to represent part of Northborough and I will always work for the best interests of the entire town.

I'm writing because my good friend and former colleague, Danielle W. Gregoire, is running to represent precincts 1 and 3 in the House. She will be a tremendous partner to work with me for the future of Northborough and the protection of our remarkable quality of life. She is the right person for the job.

We are face challenging times. You deserve a legislator who will put aside personal political agendas and come to the table when compromise is needed and get the job done. You deserve a legislator who understands that we must control spending while preserving services that you have come to depend on. Danielle's opponent voted earlier this year to prevent any funding whatsoever
from going to our seniors, our veterans and other folks who require our support. He voted against an economic development bill that has been heralded by employers and employees alike for its steps toward putting people back to work and getting our economy moving forward.

Danielle Gregoire has lived in this district her entire life, she went to public schools here, and she's invested in our communities as demonstrated by her membership in the Lions Club, the friends of the Library, and the Historical Society to name a few. Danielle may live in Marlborough but I am confident that she is the person we need helping us in Northborough as we continue to expand
and develop our economy, as our regional schools grow to teach our kids the skills they need to thrive in higher education and the workplace, and as our roads and bridges struggle to support increased traffic.

I've been fortunate enough to have earned your support and your trust over the years. The many friends I have made in Northborough have become invaluable elements in the life of my family and me. Your thoughts and prayers sustained me through a tour in Iraq and another in Afghanistan. Wherever life takes me, I will always have a very warm spot in my heart for all of you.

It is with these thoughts in mind that I now ask you to support and trust Danielle. She’s the candidate in this race who gets it and she's the candidate in this race who's in it for you and your families. Danielle is the candidate we can trust to do what’s right.

I humbly ask that you consider voting for Danielle Gregoire for State Representative on November 6. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
