National Grid Starts Tree Trimming Program

National Grid's Vegetation Managment Program has identified many trees in Northborough that require trimming. Contracting with Asplundh Tree Expert, it will perform routine maintenance, pruning trees throughout the town that may be a threat to utility wires. This practice is done to protect the wires during storms in an effort to minimize the power outages.

The program will continue through the first two weeks of July.

Notices have been sent to residents whose trees will be affected by the pruning.

The following is a list of streets that will be included in the tree trimming program.

Phase One: Adams Road, Alcott Drive, Assabet Drive, Auger Ave., Beverly Road, Blake Street, Brigham Street, Cedar Hill Road, Chesterfield Road, Church Street, Crestwood Drive, Davis Ave., Davis Street, Easy Street, Elmwood Drive, Emerson Road, Fernbrook Road, Forrest Road, Gale Street, Garrison Circle, Greenwood Road, Hoover Road, Hudson Street, Jay Ave., Jefferson Road, Leland Ave., Lincoln Street, Longfellow Road, Madison Road, Mayflower Road, Meadow Road, Milk Street, Monroe Street, Northgate Road, Oak Ave., Otis Street, Park Street, Patty Lane, Pierce Street, Pinehaven Drive, Riley Road, Ruth Road, School Street, Shady Lane Ave., South Street, Southwest Cutoff, Summer Street, Sunnyhill Road, Sunset Drive, Thayer Street, Thoreau Road, Tromblin Hill Road, Washington Road, West Main Street, Westbrook Road, Wilson Road, Winn Street, Winn Terrace and Woodland Street.
