Flags Flown at Half-Staff for Sgt. Cepeda

U.S. Army sergeant was killed in a hit-and-run accident last week.

Gov. Deval Patrick has ordered all U.S. and Commonwealth of Massachusetts flags to be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings on Wednesday, Feb. 12, in honor of U.S. Army Sgt. Myrnairis Bones Cepeda of Boston. 

Cepeda was killed on Feb. 2, by a hit-and-run driving outside of Fort Sill, OK. According to published reports, she served overseas in Iraq, Japan, Korea, and Turkey, and spent 11 years as a as a Patriot Missile Technician. 

Flags are to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset, at the main or administration building of each public institution in the state (city, or town halls, schools, etc.), all other state-owned or state-controlled buildings with flags, and all state military installations.
