Woman Charged For Pretending She Was Stabbed in the Park

A woman gave a fake name and said she had been stabbed in the park this weekend.

A Northborough woman is being charged for claiming she was stabbed in the park on South Street.

Tara McLeod, 20, 5 Howe Lane, faces charges of filing a false police report and impeding a police investigation.

Shortly before 4 a.m. on Saturday morning, Northborough police responded to a call that a woman had been stabbed in the park. Calling 9-1-1, the woman said she had been stabbed and that her name was "Emily Rose."

Police say that McLeod claimed to be under the influence of the drug Ecstasy when she made the false report.
