Northborough PD Welcomes Two New Cops to the Squad

Chief Mark Leahy announced the addition of two new hires.

Two new officers will be joining the Northborough Police Department. Chief Mark Leahy announced to the Board of Selectmen that Michael Bisset, 23, and Joseph Donahue, 28, will join the department effective Jan. 16. 

Bisset is a lifelong resident of Northborough, and graduated ARHS in 2007, and then majored in history at Colby-Sawyer College, graduating cum laude. Donahue is a lifelong Shrewsbury resident who attended St. John's High School and graduated from Brown University in 2007 with a degree in geological studies. Donahue's father is a sergeant in Boylston, and he also has a brother in the secret service and another brother who works as a postal pager. Donanue is also an accomplished rower who has spent time as a crew team coach.

Both officers graduated in the top 10 of the police academy class.

The hires fill two vacancies in the department.

Ryan Caneen took a position in the Worcester Police Department, and Shane DiDonato left at the end of last year to return to his hometown of Dudley, where he took a position on their police department.
