Northborough Officer Resigns After Accusations of Stealing from Union Fund

A former Northborough police officer resigned after officials noticed money missing from the union fund.

Nathan Fiske, a 33-year-old from Holden who served on the Northborough Police Department, resigned recently after accusations that he stole more than $25,000 while serving as the police union's group president, reported the Worcester Telegram and Gazette.

Fiske served as a dispatcher, and was hired full time in 2007, serving as the union president from 2008 to 2012, according to a Telegram interview with Detective Jeffrey R. Noel, the current president. Noel said he and other officers had asked Fiske for the checkbook, but he never turned it over. When contract negotiations began, Noel and other officers began to notice transactions that were not union related, said the Telegram.

District Attorney Joseph Early Jr.'s office is investigating the incident.
