Maple Street Closed After Teen Crashed Into Pole

A portion of Maple Street remains closed as Verizon workers restore a pole that was hit during a crash.

A portion of Maple Street closed shortly after 7:10 a.m. and continued to be closed at 1 p.m. on Wednesday after a juvenile crashed into a pole on the street. 

There were no injuries, said Sgt. Det. Brian Griffin. 

Cars can come down Maple Street from Main Street and then are being detoured down Ridge Road, said Griffin. The road is blocked at Bartlett and Maple.

Verizon indicates it could take up to three hours before the road can be re-opened. There is a detail police officer in place assisting motorist.

The accident remains under investigation.
