Man Arraigned on Charge He Broke Into Woman's Bedroom

Also in court, a man answered to charges he drove a car across a neighbor's lawn and nearly struck a cruiser.

Eugene R. Piacentini, 54, of 701 Main St., Worcester, was summonsed to court on a complaint from Shrewsbury police to face charges of receiving stolen property under $250, subsequent offense, and conspiracy. Judge Vito Virzi found Piacentini guilty on both charges and ordered him to serve three months in the House of Corrections, with credit for 23 days served. 

Peter J. Broomes, 33, of 4 Garfield Dr., Westborough, was summonsed to court on a complaint from Westborough police to face charges of breaking and entering in the nighttime for a felony and defacing property. Judge Virto Virzi released him on personal recognizance, ordered him to stay away from the alleged victim's home and scheduled a pretrial hearing for Jan. 11. Police say Broomes' neighbor woke to find him in her bedroom and that when officers arrived, he grabbed and broke a lamp during a scuffle. 

Robert A. Palmer, 51, of 455 Walnut St., Shrewsbury, was summonsed to court on a complaint from Shrewsbury police to face charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and vandalizing property. Judge Vito Virzi released Palmer on personal recognizance and scheduled a formal arraignment for Jan. 23. Police alleged Palmer took a car without permission, drove it across a neighbor's lawn and nearly struck a cruiser passing on its way to another call. 

Donna M. Bandilia, 51, of 1 Sylvan St., Worcester, was summonsed to court on a complaint from Northborough police to face charges of shoplifting by asportation and larceny over $250. Judge Vito Virzi released her on personal recognizance and scheduled a pretrial hearing for Jan. 31. Police allege Bandilia was captured taking $387.90 worth of items from Kohl's without paying. 

Deborah Simoneau, 45, of 62 Oak Ave., Northborough, was summonsed to court on a complaint from Northborough police to face a charge of assault and battery. Judge Virzi released her on personal recognizance and set a pretrial hearing for Jan. 23. 

William B. Wilson, 48, of 98 Elm St., Apt. 1, Worcester, was arrested by Northborough police and charged with disorderly conduct, malicious destruction of property and shoplifting by asportation, third offense. Judge Vito ordered Wilson held on $1,000 cash or $10,000 surety and scheduled a pretrial hearing for Dec. 20. Police allege Wilson stole $5 worth of food items from Lowe's convenience store and then kicked a car in the parking lot. 

Ann M. Benoit, 29, of 249 Cambridge St., Worcester, was arrested by Shrewsbury police and charged with possession of class B substance. Judge Vito Virzi ordered Benoit held on $500 cash or $5,000 surety and scheduled a pretrial hearing for Dec. 20. Police allege that Benoit had several oxycodone pills in her possession when she was arrested at a local motel on an outstanding warrant.
